Here are few quick pictures of work I’ve done on either myself , clients or friends over the past year or so. Enjoy!

Remove any small children from around your computer screen…What you are about to see may scare you…………………………………..scroll down if you dare. 😉
Sorry for the dramatic intro, but here is my no makeup, no filter Selfie for the whole world! Never in a million years would I have ever have posted this when my skin was bad. I have been working hard the past 6-7 months to fix my skin. Its not perfect ( dam you hyperpigmentation!!!!) but it has come leaps and bounds! When I wrote my post back in April on Acne, I had a lot of feedback and messages on it. I know a lot of people suffer from teenage and adult acne and it takes a huge blow to your confidence. I’m still a little self conscious about my scars and left over redness…but I won’t be afraid to go to the beach or pool without a full face of makeup this summer, which is HUGEEEE deal!
So basically what this little post is about and sorry for the cheesiness of it, is your skin can and WILL GET BETTER. Find what works for you. If you don’t know, ask for help. Research different products, Talk to an aesthetician, doctor or pharmacist.
You can be your own worst enemy or best friend in this process. Don’t let a little or a lot of breakouts ruin your day like it did a lot of the time for me. 😦
I had a client tell me my skin was flawless the other day….I could of kissed her!(I didn’t thought, because that would of been weird) So I just said thank you and secretly did a little dance in my head. Point is, if you yourself don’t have acne and you know someone suffering from skin issues and notice an improvement, tell them. It will seriously make their day or week!
So there is my little Sunday blurb and sappy session. Have an awesome day!
-Nicole xo 🙂
I purchased quite a few new goodies this June…and the month still isn’t over yet, so there may or may not be more to come!! 😉
Faves and Raves
Bumble and Bumble Surf spray- I previously mentioned this product before. Perfect for those days you don’t want to fuss with your hair too much(which is every day with me!) Just spray into damp hair and it gives you light beachy waves…or spray into to dry hair to mess it up a little. I have bought other types of products like this before claiming to do the same things and they never lived up to their expectations, but this one definitely did! I also don’t like a ton of product in my hair, this stuff was light and It didn’t feel like it was weighing my hair down.
Aveda Invati Scalp Revitalizer- Working for a salon that carries strictly Aveda products has many advantages! We get to work with great products daily and having a staff discount is dangerous!! My bathroom could be its own mini Aveda shop! Now this product you may have seen being advertised in Magazines or in Television commercials. The Invati System was developed to help with thinning hair, which I’ve recently had some issues with. (Bad hair habits, too tight ponytails and stress man!! Its a killer!!!) So I decided to purchase the Scalp Revitalizer. Its supposed to reduce your hair loss by 33% (when used with the shampoo and conditioner) but I thought hey, I’ll try this first and you know what? I really think its helping. My hair loss isn’t getting any worse *knock on wood* and my bathroom isn’t covered with hair all over the place!(plus, I don’t have to get the poor bf to clean out the bathtub drain as much, you’re welcome Steve)
Batiste Dry Shampoo for Dark or dark brown hair- I’ve bought every Batiste dry shampoo out there and this is by far my fave! It doesn’t leave that white residue as much because the shampoo is brown!!! Love it for my lazy hair days( 5/7 days of the week) and it also gives my hair some great volume!
Caboki- Like I said, I’ve been having some issues with my hair lately and saw this advertised on YouTube in one of those commercials I usually would have waited the 15secs to hit skip on! I didn’t this time and was sold on the product! I received this bottle as a free sample if I signed up and its basically the same as a full size, so it will last forever! What caboki is, is a fibrous product you can get in any hair color to match your own. It attaches to surrounding hairs and helps hide any signs of hair loss. Now what I have going on, on my head is not NEAR what the models in the videos have going on, its pretty cool to see the transformation. Where my hair is so dark and my scalp is so light, it makes a major difference! I will be using this till my scalp gets its shit together and stops acting like a 40 year old man.
Cricket Company’s Detangling Brush- I love this. Didn’t believe anything would possibly brush through my mop so easily. But I was dead wrong! It worked on dry tangles and also my dreadful wet hair way better then any wide tooth comb. I didn’t feel like I was slowly breaking off all my hair. If you or your children struggle with unruly hair, Id highly suggest this!
Fruits and Passions Travel Size Eau De Toilettes In Blue and White Tea- I’ve been buying all kinds of mini perfumes lately because I get so sick of scents, that I never go through the full size bottles (minus Dolce and Gabanna’s Light Blue, that stuff is my Holy Grail perfume only used for special occasions ❤ ) These sizes are perfect to just throw in a purse and go. I used to work for Fruits and Passions when I lived in Calgary and was so sad to move back to a town where they don’t have a store…but I was pleasantly surprised when I found a limited selection of their things in Lawtons. 🙂 🙂 Both of these perfumes are very light in smell and nice summer scents! Go Get some!!!!
Sally Hansen’s Airbrush Legs- this stuff is awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I hate my legs and this stuff makes wearing a shorter dress more “bareable” ha!… get it?! Anyway…I just picked this up at shoppers when it was on for like half price and I love it!! I know I have seen the spray version before and people seem to like that, but I like this lotion. My legs seriously looked like I had Nylons on! I think it comes in a few different colors and Medium was definitely the best to make my legs look a little more tanned and even! No veins or scars!!! yey! Also, it doesn’t transfer on to your clothing which is huge and it just washes off with soap and water, but you have to sort of scrub at it! I didn’t try this anywhere other then my legs but Im sure you could use it all over your body if you needed to hide any imperfections!
Loreal Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara in Blackest Black…..New Fave! love this stuff! love the brush! everything!….except the fact that I may or may not be allergic to it since I woke up the past week every morning with itchy eyes…but whatever, Beauty is pain right?! I like this stuff and bought a few just in case they ever discontinue it!
Elf cosmetics Brow Set, Blush and Bronzer and High Definition Undereye setting powder…All Inexpensive and found at Target…pretty sure I let out a little squeal when I saw the display, also pretty sure the security guard was watching me like a hawk because I think I was drooling in the makeup section that day. I AM NOT A THEIF!!! I just like wandering around makeup isles for long periods of time! Sorry!!….not SORRY!!!!…. It was either that or he thought I was pretty…I’ll go with the latter reason 😉
Ps I think the Bronzer and blush duo is a dupe for some Nars Orgasm blush and Laguna bronzer!!!!
Nyx Retractable Lip pencil in Nude Pink- decent quality…nice color for every day wear and inexpensive.. so there for, I like it!
Essence Eye Liner in Dark brown…it was 2 bucks and an after thought at the cash register at Shoppers…Glad I grabbed it though. Super soft and dark brown is a great alternative to black liner in the day time!
Benefit Fake up Concealer- although I haven’t had this long.. I think I am going to like it. I bought it in the color Light. Its super smooth and doesn’t settle in my tiny fine lines under my eyes. Anything will help with my bad circles lately! It’s easier to buy makeup then to try to get some decent sleep these days!
Rimmel’s Stay Matte Powders…2 for $10 at Walmart Ladies!! I bought these in the colors Natural and Buff Beige. I’ve heard quite good things about these and They seem to be pretty good for drugstore powders! I bought these to set the Benefit Concealer. Hopefully they work out.
Milani Brow and Eye Highlighters- Ps Wal-Mart now carries Milani products as well! YeY!! This works great under the brow bone, in the inside corners of the eye and also on the water line to brighten! One side is matte and the other is shimmer. I believe I bought this In the color 01.
Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish eye shadow- I’m on the fence with this one. Can’t quite decide if its a Fave or Flop. I bought this with expectation of a getting a great sparkly shadow. I’m not sure if I’m not using it properly of what. It looks beautiful in the container but not as pigmented as I thought. Also, the eye primer that came in the package, had little to nothing left in it 😦
Milani Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss in Sweet Grapefruit- this wasn’t too bad. I kind of hate the smell though, but the color is a nice light pink and a pretty shade for summer, so that’s something?
Loreal Collection Privee Lipsticks….These were on sale for half off and I should of known why there were so many left. They look really pretty in their packaging, but I hate how they feel on my lips. The Color payoff isn’t great either. Save your money.
Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer- I know a lot of people rave over this stuff, but It just isn’t for me. Maybe its the color I bought or something I don’t know. I just don’t find it does what I want it to which is hide under eye circles and high light my face a bit.
Color Revolution Mineral Foundation and Blush- I bought this on a whim at Lawtons . It was new and looked interesting and I do like mineral makeup, so I thought “hey, what the heck?! Ill try it” The blush was way to sparkly for my liking. It was also Kind of disappointing when I paid $20 for a drugstore foundation that I didn’t love.
Hope You enjoyed this little read and encourages you to go out and try some new products!
-Nicole xo 🙂
First things first before we get into it, Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday and a very Happy Father’s day! 🙂
Now, Where would we be if we didn’t have Celebrities to influence fashion and beauty trends? They really help mould the way the designers and beauty companies make their clothing and products. We are being constantly bombarded with commercials and advertisements on how we should look and act. That being said, I feel there are a lot of really bad celebs to aspire to look like, but there are a select few that I personally love and think are Great!!! (If I could own any of their closets or makeup collections…I’d be okay with that 😉 ) Here are my faves… In no particular order.
1)Jennifer Lawrence- I love this girl! She’s a funny, smart, talented actress. If I was to ever cut my hair super short, she has the perfect style. Her clothing choices are always on point and her body confidence is something that every actress should promote to their fans. Love, Love Love!!!! ( hey Jen, call me!!! we could be best friends!!!!!)
2) Lupita Nyong’o – This red carpet darling is phenomenal. She could put on a paper bag and still look stunning. That face, is unforgettable. Her acceptance speech at this years Oscars made me tear up. “No matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid” …She really can do no wrong….( Dear Lupita, if me and Jen Lawrence don;t work out, you could be the replacement bestie!!)
3) Nicole Guerriero- I may have previously stated in other posts, I am obsesseddddddddddd with this girl. I watch her youtube channel religiously. She is the bomb.com!!! If she recommends a product, there’s a good chance I will go out and get it or its on my wish list. She always has fun with her style and doesn’t take herself too seriously in her videos. If you don’t know who she is, go look her up on youtube. She has various makeup, clothing, hair videos and was once a average girl who just liked talking about these things and now has millions of fans! She is one of the main reasons and inspirations for starting a blog….I also like to think we are pretty cool with our matching names 😉
4) Kelly Osbourne- Now some of you may or may not agree with this one, but I love Kelly. She has changed a lot from when we first saw her on the Osbourne’s. She dresses how she wants and I’m kind of digging her crazy hair colors. I just wish I could of managed to get my hands on some of her makeup from her collaboration with Mac 😦 (which sold out super fast, so I must not be the only one that thinks she’s fab!)
5) Rihanna- She’s bold and in your face with her makeup, hair and clothing choices. She’s pretty bad-ass if you ask me ( I’ll even forgive her for going back with Chris Brown) A few years ago, She shaved half her head and so did I….looked great on her…not so much on me, but she inspired me to take some risks…even though it was a major fail, I can atleast tell my Grandkids someday, I was pretty cool back in the day.
6) WWE Divas- okay…don’t judge me, but I like these girls. I love their reality show and I will even tolerate watching wrestling with the bf again because of them. I think they are all beautiful in their own ways. Eva Marie and The Bella twins are probably my faves. I NEED Eva Marie’s red hair!!! Obsessed!! #AllRedEverything 😉
7) Taylor Swift – She’s young and has fun with her outfits. Her hair is gorgeous and she seems like she could totally just hang out with anyone, and although her choice in men and her bitter breakup songs are a bit much all the time, I like the way she puts herself together. Girly and a bit preppy and sometimes sexy. She always rocks a colored lip too (my fave)
8) Angelina Jolie- While she did steal Brad( I don’t like cheaters!!) She made up for it the past few years with all her amazing and generous humanitarian work and also, her bravery going through a double mastectomy. I recently saw her movie ( Maleficent) and was in awe of her beauty. Yes, she had major contouring going on, but there is no mistaking, her face is mesmerizing.
9)Marilyn Munroe- now while she is not a current celebrity, Marilyn has played a major role in pop culture, fashion and beauty. She was curvy, blonde, beautiful and a sad, misunderstood person. I would of loved to live in her era. My room during university, was covered in her posters. I have one of her famous quotes tattooed on me permanently and whole heartedly believe it. I got it while I was having some major confidence issues and truly think it made me feel better. “Imperfection is Beauty, Madness is Genius and It’s better to be absolutely ridiculous then absolutely boring”
10) last but not least… Jenny from the block or Jlo!!! She is 44 and doesn’t look a day over 25! Her skin is flawless…her hair is always done just right, her style is glamorous and fun! Her body is what a real woman should look like. Poor girl just cant catch a break and find a man that can deal with her and her success.
Hope you enjoyed my little post!
xo Nicole 🙂
I was nominated by the lovely http://thebeautyglamazon.com/ for the Liebster award. Go on over and check out her super, awesome page 🙂
So lets get into the questions she gave me.
1. When it comes to getting ready, are you high maintenance, low maintenance or no maintenance?
I would have to say that I am High maintenance, and I’m sure the bf would agree. I’m trying my hardest to be a little more relaxed in my beauty regime now that my skin is clear and I’m feeling more confident without going out without a full face of war paint.
2. What is the one step in your beauty routine that you absolutely cannot skip?
Concealer and Mascara. I cant just pick one.
3. What is your holy grail product that I absolutely must try?
Well, I have 3. 1) I absolutely loveeee my Anastasia Dip brow pomade in ebony. It makes your brow routine fool proof. 2) I also have a Aveda Enbrightenment Toner that I just keep buying. Great for post inflammatory hyper pigmentation left over from acne and just makes my face feel extra clean. 3) Maybelline Age Rewind Dark circle concealer in Neutraliser.
4. What is your signature look?
Neutral shadow, black liner, bright lip as far as makeup goes. But clothing wise, I’m a little all over the map. My look depends on the day and my mood.
5. Spring, summer, autumn or winter?
Summer handsdown!! Fall and spring are nice too, but coming off one of the worst winters in my hometown’s history, I would be happy to never see snow again.
6. Who is your favourite beauty YouTuber?
Nicole Guerriero. She is my girl. I want to be her or I’d settle for being her best friend.
7. Why did you decide to start your blog?
I decided to start a blog when I realized I spent hours reading other people’s blogs and watching youtube videos on beauty and fashion related things. I also am a product junkie & a Spa Aesthetchian by profession and people know this, so I was finding myself being asked for advice on products and services all the time previous to starting a blog. So I figured I would give it a shot and the feedback so far has been extremely positive. 🙂 I find the writing is also becoming a hobby, I forgot I enjoyed when I was younger.
8. What is one of your guilty pleasures?
Eating. I love my food. I have never been on a diet and don’t think I ever could be. Fingers crossed I don’t blow up like a balloon as my metabolism slows down.
9. If you could switch lives with a celebrity, who would it be and why?
Jennifer Lawerence. She seems like she has so much going for her. Funny, Smart, Talented and beautiful. What else would you want to be.
10. What are some of your current favourites (makeup, songs, food, anything!)?
Makeup- Urban Decay Naked 3 palette
Songs- I recently discovered Iggy Azalea. I am obsessed with her song ” Fancy”
Food/Drinks- Starbucks Cotton Candy Frappe. Sooooo pretty and pink and delicious
11. What is something you are hoping to achieve in the next 5 years?
In the next 5 years I hope to have a well established clientèle working as an Aesthetchian . I also hope to own a house and possibly have started a family… The simple things 🙂

11)How do see your blog and life in the next 5 years? 10?
A little birdie told me to do some product reviews for my next blog entry (hey Laura! 😉 ) But I decided I would do a little combination of product reviews and my recent most favorite products.
In the past few months, I’m not going to lie, I have been on whirlwind spending spree. Buying Clothes, shoes, jewelry, makeup, and anything with a sale tag basically. Its getting bad…butttt my frivolous ways are the reason you will get info on some super awesome products and things!…. You’re welcome.
First things first, The ol ball and chain and I went to the Big Apple in May. I had a list in mind of makeup products I had drooled over on Sephora.com for while. So I decided to bite the bullet and put out some more cash on “better” products. Now, don’t get me wrong, I loveeeeeeee cheap things. If I can get something at a discount or a drugstore product that is of good quality, I’m excited! That being said, these products were worth the eye twitch, punch in the stomach feeling I felt when the girl gave me my total for just a few things.
I just have to say one thing about Urban Decay products…….Where have you been all my life?!?! Why was I so stubborn to not give in to all the hype of the “Naked” pallet series before this. Stupid me.. Don’t let this happen to you!!! Urban decay is a legit brand if you’ve never tried it.
The Urban Decay Naked 3 pallet is beautiful. Perfect neutrals for everyone. Rose golds are the main color scheme in this and they are super flattering. I haven’t been able to try it out on anyone else but myself yet, but it will most definitely be a staple in doing any makeup for friends for weddings, proms or anything really. I think that either the Naked 3 pallet or even the other two versions would be perfect for someone who doesn’t want or need a lot of makeup. You can do so many looks with the shadows in each, whether that’s subtle or dramatic. You can bet, I will be going to get the other two eventually. (when I let my debit card cool down ) Urban decay also includes some samples of their eye primers in this box! I’ll probably break down and get those some day as well. Dam samples. Those marketing people know what they are doing……….
Next new pallet and the new love of my life is the Urban Decay Electric Pallet. O…M….G…..If you want super pigmented shadows, this is for you. Gorgeous purples, bright blues, yellow, etc. The brightest of bright shadows. This is a really fun pallet if you aren’t afraid to play with a little color from time to time. Only issue I have with this is there is a disclaimer on the packaging saying 4 of the shadows are not for use on “the direct eye area”…..Ummm what?! This is eye shadow, and the last time I checked, you wear them on your eyes….The only information I was able to find on this issue is that these certain colors may have dyes that people can have reactions to. So I decided to be brave (or stupid, whatever) and try those said colors all over my eyes. The verdict is, I can still see (good sign) and my eyelids didn’t fall off ( also, very good sign)….So if you have sensitive skin or allergies to certain dyes, maybe patch test this pallet before you go crazy with it.
In my recent Sephora travels, I also purchased The Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray. This product has been around for a while and I just kept putting off buying it. If you need to know one thing about my hair routine, Its basically either wear a huge bun in dirty hair or wash and put in a braid or use headband curls. This saves my lazy butt from blow-drying my hair. So a spray that makes you have beachy waves is right up my alley. It doesn’t make my hair sticky and it just helps encourage the wave in my hair. I think I will love this product even more come summer time! Only regret I have in regards to this is I bought the mini size they have laying in those containers surrounding the Sephora counter…..they lure you in with those cute mini sizes of products. It sucks me in every time. Should of just bought the large size and saved myself the time and money.
Next thing I bought was the Elizabeth and James Black Nirvana perfume by Mary Kate and Ashley. I also have the white version I purchased a few months back. I equally love both fragrances. They are each very different but both very pretty. The black is defiantly the more muskier of the two and the white is more floral. When I save up so more $$$, I may splurge and buy the larger versions….orrrrr anyone can buy them for my birthday….just saying….its next month….you would be my favorite person….ever.
Next stop on my makeup buying bender, We hit up New York’s iconic “Macy’s”. FYI I would live there if I could, but that’s a whole other blog post. So many floors of clothes and shoes and makeup. High end brands and more affordable brands. Needless to say, I loved it. Their makeup section basically looked like a mini Sephora ( much to my delight 🙂 )
Here I bought more Urban decay products. I bought one of their Revolution Lipsticks in the color Native. I am obsessed. The perfect nude pink. Super smooth texture and I have gotten quite a few compliments on it, so therefor, its a keeper in my books.
I also decided to try out some Too Faced products for the first time. I have heard so much on the Chocolate Soleil bronzer, that I had to try it out for myself. My luck, they had it as part of their limited edition bronzer pallet called ” Bonjour Soleil”. This came with the chocolate soleil bronzer, then a shimmery bronzer called Sun bunny and a highlight/bronzer called Snow bunny. All three of these are very nice bronzers and they smell like chocolate, so you can’t get much better then that.
On the drive back from NYC, I also picked up a mac lipstick pallet from the spring 2013 collection ( all bright colors) and some Perfume from Guess.
MISC Objects and more makeup……
I am a little purse obsessed. Never really been huge into brand names till My bf decided to buy me my first coach clutch two years ago. Poor guy doesn’t know what he started…..High Standards now Stephen!!!!!!! This trip I splurged and bought not only the purse, but the wallet and clutch/coin purse.
I was only able to get these at the outlet store in Boston for a very good deal…otherwise I never would of got all 3 of them.
Obsessed with the coral color and I don’t find the coach pattern as corny looking as a lot of the prints they make their purses in.
Next Favorites are just some random things I’ve picked up in the last month or two.
I have been constantly wearing these shades I bought at Spring and this head wrap I won from an Instrgram page I follow. Her name is “Doda wraps” and she makes some really fun pieces for adults and the little girl headbands are precious. Check her out at http://instagram.com/dodawraps …tell her I sent you 🙂
I managed to snag these beauties at Lawtons drugmart. I have been trying to get my hands on NYX butter glosses for forever!! only catch is I had to pick up the whole set in order to get them…which is fine because one can never have two many pink and nude glosses. I also tried the Real Techniques beauty blender. I will say its decent quality if you don’t want to shell out the cash for the real beauty blender from Sephora.
I don’t know if have been living under a rock for a long time or what. But I honestly don’t believe I have ever tried Greek yogurt till I accidently grabbed this berries and granola mix at the grocery store. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. I love Greek yogurt wayyy, wayyyy more then its boring old cousin, regular yogurt.
Next recent purchase was my two Lime crime lipsticks. I do like the formulas. However, I am not crazy over the colors I chose. I picked Coquette which is a real nude, and cosmopop, which is a orange soda sort of color. But, the packaging is very pretty and girly and it has unicorns on it and well we all know I’m a sucker for good packaging and advertising. I’ll eventually try other colors and find one that is right for me.
First off….I’m not much of a Glee fan anymore, but I will always love Lea Michele. She’s pretty, smart, witty and brunette ( I think we were separated at birth actually! HA!HA! jkjk!) Her book was a fun and easy read with recipes, makeup/fashion ideas, homemade spa treatments, workout tips and fun info on her background & career. If anything, it makes for a pretty coffee table book 😉
And there you have it. Some of my most recent purchases and recent faves. Hope this helps if anyone was on the fence about buying and trying any of the things I mentioned.
Have a Great Night…or day…whenever you’re reading this and don’t forgot to either follow this blog via wordpress account or email. I’d really appreciate it! 😉 Thanks!!
