Sorry for the lack of posts lately! The past few weeks have been nuts at work ( a normal occurrence in spas and salons in December)  and in my free time I was busy buying and wrapping gifts and stressing over every little detail!

I’m hoping to get back on track and writing weekly blogs as soon as possible! I’ll be sure to have lots of new goodies to review! 🙂 Yey!

In the meantime, I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a Very Happy New Year! I would also like to take the time to thank all my clients and also, everyone who takes the time to read my silly little blurbs on beauty!

Today’s look was a whole bunch of black shadow. Pretty straight forward and surprisingly easy.

The key to working with darker shadows is to “blend, blend, blend and then blend some more”. This will prevent it from looking too harsh and like you have two punched eyes. I recommend doing your shadow before the rest of your face to prevent fall out of the shadows too. When you apply your concealer afterwards, it can clean up any mistakes you make 🙂

I also recommend using a base for your shadows to prevent them from creasing or fading. ( I generally use either NYX Milk or NYX Black) Today I used the black to intensify and deepen the colours.

It also helps if you use a warm shade as your crease/transition shade. It further prevents the look from looking too harsh and gets rid of any wonky lines. I use either a taupe shade or light or medium brown. ( I generally get these from either my Urban Decay Naked 3 pallet or my Maybelline the Nudes pallet. )

Other products used were a black gel pencil liner from Essence cosmetics (which was dirt cheap too FYI) and my mascara is Rimmel Lash Accelerator. ❤

For my lighter inner corner shade I used a light, shimmery shade that I was in my NYX pallet that I mentioned in My November Favorites

For Brows I used my trusty Whitening Lightning Brow Bar and Maybelline Brow Drama Brow Gel.

And even though you can’t see the rest of my face in the picture, I will let you know I bought yet another new foundation. The Bourjois Cosmetics Healthy Mix Gel Foundation and I have been wearing it and loving it! And so far, knock on wood, no breakouts!!! yey! 🙂

Review: Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick

Ummmm So who doesn’t love a long lasting, super pigmented lipstick that comes in a wide variety of shades? If you said, “Nahhh….I love it when my lipstick wears off instantly and smears all over my face” ….then clearly this little post is not for you….Carry on.

This past month, I will let you in on a little secret. I discovered the holy grail of lipsticks; Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick.

I purchased mine at my local Shoppers Drug Mart on a whim while Christmas shopping for others….

“One for me! One for you!!!” (Isn’t that how everyone shops?!….What’s that? No? Oh well, ignore my little shopping motto then :/)

The first colour I decided to try out was “Aria” which is described as a Magenta Plum colour. Believe what you may, but I seriously don’t think I own any colour like this in my steadily growing lippie collection. I feel this shade would work well with many different skin tones and could work as a good Autumn/Winter colour or even Spring/Summer.

After the first time I wore this out and had it last through eating a massive deli sandwich, I knew this was my kind of lipstick. The finish is matte but not drying like other products out there that suck the life and moisture out of your poor lips!  ( Step up your game, MAC!!!! Jesus!! ) The application was easy and it was very pigmented even with the first swipe of colour. You don’t even really need to use a lip liner if you are neat while applying it.

So naturally after the success of the first colour, I wanted more! So I went back and purchased “Fiery’ , which is described as a Deep Red shade. I always seem to gravitate and feel most comfortable in red lipstick, so I thought why not add another to my stock pile!

Again, this did not disappoint. It actually may have replaced my Mac Ruby woo, as the top Red in my books. You best believe I will be wearing this a lot this Holiday season. 🙂

The One and only downfall to these bad boys…Is the price. They are almost $30 a pop. :/ So definitely a more pricey/high end product. I would recommend swatching and testing colours before actually buying one. That way you know how the texture feels and how the colour looks on you. There is nothing worse then getting home with something and having it look awful and not be able to return it.

As far as I know, the only places you can buy these is on or at Shoppers Drug Mart (if you live where I live, there aren’t many options of places to buy things like this.)

Some other colours that I would like to try and have heard that are popular are “Patina” which is a dusty rose shade( Kylie Jenner lips!!!!!) and “Fiore” which is a hot pink colour.

If anyone out there has other suggestions for colours from this line that would be nice to try, let me know! 🙂

So there you have it, a quick little review on one of my favorite products of the moment!

Good Night! 🙂
